From time to time care workers may be asked to undertake some tasks, which may be considered to be specialist.
These tasks may be undertaken following appropriate risk assessments and only after care workers receive client specific training in line with the Oxfordshire NHS Shared Care Protocols.
Below is list of what these tasks may be:
- Assisting with artificial feeding
Changing sterile dressings
Assisting with medications classed as level 3 such as warfarin and steroids
Tracheotomy care – oral suctioning
Assistance with eye or ear drops
Ileostomy and colostomy care – changing of bags
Compression Hosiery
