Pioneering Care Bicester place prime importance on employing staff that are fit for the job, have appropriate qualifications, skills and experience to ensure the health and welfare needs of clients are met. Staff are required to have a full interview, an enhanced and satisfactory DBS check and may only commence employment when this has been received, together with satisfactory references. Pioneering Care Bicester also ensure that all staff are properly trained, and have adequate supervision and regular appraisal. The agency endeavours to ensure that service users have confidence in their staff members and that their service can be relied upon to provide the best quality of care.

After undergoing a rigorous selection process, all staff receive an induction and shadow training programme. The induction completes the Care Certificate which was introduced in April 2015 as part of The Care Act and replaces the Common Induction Standards. Regular updating of training takes place, together with specialist training on particular topics or types of client e.g. food hygiene or those clients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Additionally we aim that all staff will have commenced the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care within one year of commencing employment.

Even with the most conscientious and responsive care, there may be times when we fall short of the expected standards. Comments and complaints are welcomed and will be listened to and acted on effectively, and clients will not be discriminated against for making a complaint.

The service user, or a representative on their behalf, has the absolute right to comment or complain and the Complaints Policy Procedure will be used. A copy of this policy will be included in the information provided to all clients within the client held home folder. Also included will be the Oxfordshire County Council’s Standards for Home Support Services.

Pioneering Care will supply clients with a copy of the organisation’s Safeguarding and Data Protection policies and will work closely and with full transparency with the local authority in relation to any safeguarding matters or security breaches.

Pioneering Care are currently insured with Aviva Insurance Ltd.
